Cause that's pretty much what you said. We have their works and writings and their lives are recorded in history books, which is the same for Jesus(God). Can I prove God exists? -Yes, without God, there is no such thing as good or evil. We would be completely mindless without any feeling whatsoever, actually we wouldn't even exist. To have this universe, science has found that there has to be an intelligent creator. Please take a few moments to actually study these things YOURSELF before you go asking the questions. Does God give me food? -Why yes he does. On the third day(some believe this was all in 24 hour periods, but that is questionable for that time period), God had separated the waters which created dry land, also he started vegetation, he planted all kinds of seed bearing plants which would bring both flowers and fruits and vegetables. On the 6th day he created land animals(cattle and so on to even include dinosaurs) and mankind, in the documentation of Noah and the Arc God had commanded him to build, God specified which animals were for food for Noah and his family, and which animals were sacrificial. So yes, God has ALREADY given me food, and you too. Does God dress me? -Yes, infact he has already given me clothing. After Adam and Eve had eaten from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they had seen their bodies and realized nothing was covering them, so they said they were naked and used leaves to cover themselves, then they heard God coming and they hid, he asked why they were hiding(he asks only to build a relationship of love and trust with them, he already knows what is going on, but we are not created with infinite knowledge so we don't always know what is right or wrong) and Adam had said that they were naked, so God gave them clothes made from animal skins and fur, and we still do the same thing today. For God healing, here is the best way I can say it: God heals spiritually and, when it is needed in his will, physically. I find it funny that you say amputees cannot be healed, when they heal up pretty darn good. I know one, he is one of my best friends and he is a Christian, so try again bud. Why is cursing bad when it is just made up words? Simple, they're offensive and hurtful, forgive me for saying this but DERR! Ephesians 4:29 tells us, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." 1 Peter 3:10 declares, "For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech." James 3:9-12 summarizes the issue, "With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water." Why is it a sin to cuss/swear/curse? We should only allow good and positive things to come out of our mouths - things that will encourage other people (Ephesians 4:29). It is not right for praising and cursing to come out of the same mouth (James 3:9-12). I'm an Ex-Atheist, I have realized that God is no delusion, but the Atheistic belief is because it can all be destroyed just as I did here. God has helped me in my life, and you cannot physically see him, but your soul knows when it has seen him, this is a concept you don't understand because you wont allow yourself to believe you have a soul and you wont feel for it. I don't just want something to believe in, I just know it's truth. If I wasn't presented with all the facts that I have, if I haven't done any studying(which you haven't studied a single dang thing of the Lord), If I hadn't experienced God's love/power/grace, then I too would be saying "screw God and all those Christians who believe in that crap" I used to be that way, till I actually studied. One last point, the only God who has been attacked for hundreds upon hundreds of years by Atheists... has been the Christian God. Ephesians 6:10-20 actually tells of this event which is happening right now, the spiritual warfare. Satan uses his followers and the "Godless"(Atheists/Agnostics) against the Christians and followers of God.
